At that time, Jonathan was the Treasurer of the NM Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In late 2019, Tori Gilpin suggested we switch to a remote offering instead of in-person due to concerns about COVID. Her concerns turned out to be accurate, as months late folks found themselves in lockdown. From early 2020 to the fall of 2022, the NMCTM hosted "Saturday Snapshots," which were remote conferences that featured an educator and/or educational organization. This particular presentation was where Jonathan himself presented on his strategy of integrating seminar into mathematics and how one could do that in a remote context. In late 2023, under Jonathan's guidance, the NMCTM transfered its organizational charter and the $20,000 endowment held at Longview Financial to the NM Partnership for Math & Science and Education (nmpmse.org), where Jonathan and others formerly from NMCTM currently serve.
